A boy, his dog and a chocolate chip cookie :)

The image I stamped on this card is among my favorite stamps; Mo Manning's images are so adorable, what can I say :)

The little frog on Louis' jeans cracks me up and I can just see my buddy Angus with his tongue out licking my chocolate chip cookie.  How cute is this?

I am entering this card in 3 challenges:

Thanks for stopping by today.  Please enjoy a piece of fruit, or a chocolate chip cookie if you are not already Holiday cookied out :)

Case Study #171

Wow, I have been missing for some time now.  A few reasons for this, however not only has my Mojo returned, I have a few days off work.  Soooo, back to my favorite thing, making cards.

When I saw this pretty bird on the Moxie Fab blog a while back it inspired me; I was very happy to see the photo of this pretty bird as the inspiration for the Case Study challenge this week:

I chose to put a butterfly on my card, another lovely flying creature of nature.  Thank you Case Study for the  beautiful inspiration.

Wishing you and your loved ones a
Very Merry Christmas!!

Our Sweet Doggy, Pearl.....

On the day before Thanksgiving Mike and I had to make the hard decision to put our sweet girl Pearl down.  Pearl was 12 years young and the joy of our lives.  She was telling us it was time to go in her sweet doggy way.  We will miss her.
Good-bye my sweet angel - Love you xoxo

Heather's Sketch

The challenge over at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge is to make a card using this nice sketch by Heather and some Authentique paper if you have some in your stash.  I have quite a few pieces of this wonderful paper and used the red and white gingham on my card:

I have been inspired this week to make Christmas cards, I know late to start, but that's me, what can I say.  The sketch helped me put this card together and I'm so happy with it:

Isn't this little Polar Bear by Memory Box the cutest?

Have a great day and if you're in the USA enjoy that Thanksgiving feast on Thursday!!

Christmas Bird

This week's challenge at the Less is More challenge blog is perfect for this time of year; make a Christmas card and include a bird on the card.

We have a little bit of snow on the ground here in lovely Colorado and it's cold, did I say cold, around 17 degrees this morning.  It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.......:)

Here's my card:

The little bird is from Hero Arts, the sentiment is Memory Box and the DP is Authentique.

Have a lovely day and if you're like me be sure to start all that Holiday cooking, Yum :)

Christmas card #1 2013

I meet every 2 months with a group of Stampin' Up fans and I was the hostess for November.  One of the new stamp and die bundles I added to my ever growing collection is the pretty snowflake on this card.  I made this card with 2 current challenges in mind, here's my card:

I am submitting this card to 2 challenges:

Less Is More - Use designer paper in a CAS Way
&
Just Us Girls - Color Challenge

Thanks for stopping by today, enjoy this lovely Autumn day :)

City Crafter - Hold It!

My new job is filling my time these days and I haven't made one Christmas item; until now that is.  This week's challenge at the City Crafter Challenge Blog is called Hold It!  We have been challenged to make or decorate a container.

I took one of my little round, plastic containers and jazzed it up with Christmas papers, stickers and ribbons.  And, a little bit of square and round bling.  Here it is:

Not the best photo I know.  My cat, Boo, decided to get in the way at the time.  He loves to get into my crafting stuff, especially ribbons :)

Thanks for stopping by today, happy crafting!

LIM - string or twine

This week's challenge at  Less is More is a recipe challenge and we have been asked to create a card using string or twine. I have a lot of twine, all different colors of twine, I just love the stuff.  Here's my card:

I used a Kaisercarft stamp, a Hero Arts sentiment stamp, some watercolor pencils and some pretty purple twine.  Oh yes, I also put a little stickles on the flowers but it's hard to see in this photo.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the day :)

Tuesday Trigger - Apache Tears

The Tuesday Trigger over at Moxie Fab World this week is called "Apache Tears".  I had never heard of chevrons being referred to as Apache tears before.  When I mentioned this to my husband, he told me the name came about during the 1800's when the calvery patrols came out west to engage in war with the Apaches; the calvery patrols wore chevrons on their uniforms.
Although somewhat disturbing (sad tears, not happy tears), I learned something new today.  I guess I need to read more Louis La Amore.  Anyway, here is the inspiration photo for the Tuesday Trigger:

And here is my card.  I chose to change the pattern from chevrons to squares staying as close to the color pallate as I could:
The squares are from a Bo Bunny geometric patterns stamp set and the sentiment and butterflies are Stampin Up.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Now hop on over to the book store and get a Louis La Amore book.  I'll be taking one from Mike's book stash and will start it later today :)

Case this Sketch #46

You know how you see a sketch, you make your card, get ready to post it to your blog and enter the challenge and realize maybe your card doesn't fit the criteria for the challenge.  Well, I have done that - - here's the sketch for the challenge this week at Case This Sketch:

As you can see by looking at the sketch, it's CAS (clean & simeple).  Not sure how clean and simple my card is, but I like it and am entering it into the challenge.  This card is made with another of the Dog stamps I bought at the Scrap show on Friday:

Isn't this doggy fabulous, riding in the car with his ears (& bones) blowing in the wind.  I just love this stamp and couldn't wait to use it.

Thanks for stopping by, now get in the car (or on the motorcycle) and take a nice long ride :)

New Cute Dog Stamp....

On Friday I went to a Scrap show with my friend Terri O, I love adding the O to her name.  I bought quite a few stamps, etc. and the Dog stamp I used on my card is one of the stamps I bought.

The first time ink has hit this stamp is for the challenge over at Seize the Sketch, here's the sketch we are to use this week:

and here's my card with the water-soaked dog:

Thanks for stopping by today, be sure to get the towel ready :)

Technique challenge = Grid

There is a technique challenge this week at the Just Us Girls challenge blog, the challenge is to use the Grid technique.  This technique is accomplished by scoring your paper in a grid pattern, I'm happy with my card, hope you like it too:

I used a Stampin' Up set called "a day for gratitude", colored the images with Tombo markers and then added a few gems.

Thanks for stopping by today :)

Case Study #156

The September muse at the Case Study challenge blog is Kathy Racoosin, you must check out both blogs, the inspiration is overflowing with Wonderfulness (is that a word:).  I have admired Kathy's work for a long, long time.  She is so good with colors and makes such fantastic cards.

This is Kathy's colorful card to be cased:

And, here's my card:

I recycled a Vera Bradley shopping bag for my card.  I thought the flowers and colors of the bag were so pretty and when I saw the Case Study inspiration card the bag popped into my mind.  The sentiment stamp is Memory Box.  I added some ribbon & gems and used a border punch on the white background.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I just LOVE Vera Bradley's colorful, pretty purses :)

2 Autumn Cards

Hi there, it's almost Autumn my favorite season.  Although we are having a very hot day here in Sedalia, CO I am in an Autumn state of mind.  I made 2 cards for a "washi tape" scramble today and wanted to add them to my blog.  The scramble at the Hero Arts Flickr group asked us to use the washi tape on our card, so here they are:

This "memories" card uses wood designed washi tape on the left and bottom side.

The "choose beauty" card used washi tape on the left corner and bottom of the image.

Thanks so much for stopping by today :)

Books

Book is the inspiration "word" this week at the CASology challenge blog.  A home can never have too many books, they are the window to the world.  I have a few stamps with books and I chose this little stamp set from Stampendous for the challenge.

I used watercolor pencils, a pop dot for the apple and scorred a few lines in the top of the banner.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you're enjoying the book you're reading :)

Back to School

Back to School is the challenge this week at the Simon Says Wednesday challenge, check it out HERE.  I stopped at Hobby Lobby the other day and they were having a big stamp sale, I was so surprised to see a nice set of Graphics 45 stamps and snatched them up right away.  I used one of the stamps from the set for my card:

This is without a doubt my favorite digital stamp from Mo, it's so fun.  I sing with my dogs all the time and little Bronte howling to the Sax is just so darn cute.  Here's my card:

I added some gold stickles to the saxophone, used watercolor pencils to color the image and added some gems and polka dot paper.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Now, go ahead and get your "SAX" on!

A Number Card

I made this card today for the challenge over at the Less is More challenge blog.  Unfortunately, the challenge is for a One-layer card with numbers and I didn't realize that when making my card, so it isn't exactly one-layer.  Oh well.  I like this card so here it is, won't be entering it in the challenge just wanted to share it here :)

I used paper from the Simple Stories 6X6 pad and a Hero Arts stamp with some of the verbiage blocked out so I could just get the "friend".

Thanks for stopping by, Friend :)

Fusion Hypothesis #15

I'm playing along with the challenge, Hypothesis #15, at the Fushion Blog this week.  I took inspiration for my card from the photo half of the fusion:

Did someone say BUBBLES :)

Penny Black stamps, what's to say, they are so nice.  I recently added this little "Bubble Girl" from PB stamps to my collection and knew the perfect challenge would come along to put ink to her; and it did not once but twice - 2 challenge blogs  Inkspirational Challenges and Simon Says Challenge are featuring the challenge "Anything Goes" this week, so here's my card with the sweet, little Bubble Girl:

I added some stickles to the bubbles, coloring with watercolor pencils and the birthday wishes circle is a Hero Arts stamp.

Have fun this week-end and get yourself some BUBBLES!!
