Birthday Flowers

I apologize for the photo, too late in the evening I guess.  Anyway, I made this card for the challenge at Less Is More this week.  Here is the sketch we were given for inspiration:

Thanks for stopping by today, it's a hot one here!!

Bright Butterfly

This pretty butterfly is from a Hero Arts stamp and die set I purchased some time ago and the flowers are from a Hero Arts background stamp I recently won in a blog hop.

I put this happy card together for this week's challenge at the Fusion challenge blog. I chose to combine the photo and the sketch for my card, here's the Fusion inspiration:

Glad you're here, have a happy day!!

Ahoy Matey!

Summertime - flowers, sunshine, pools, hikes, water gun attacks, BBQ's and the list goes on.  A big Summertime thought in my head is the OCEAN!!  I grew up by the ocean and although I live in the mountains now, the ocean is always a thought that's not too far away.

This week's challenge at the Casology blog is Nautical.  Ships and ocean come to mind don't they?  I recently added this "unnamed" anchor to my stamp collection ($1.00 bin at Michael s) and came up with this card for the challenge.  Isn't this anchor somethin', I like it so much.  Added some twine, some stars and a hand-written sentiment and viola another card is born :)

Glad you're visiting today, hope you're enjoying your Summer so far :)

Stencils

When Stencils made a come back I wasn't all that into using them.  Not sure why really, I like to stamp and color my images with watercolor pencils and stenciling just didn't seem to fit my creativity world.  Well, then on 2 different occasions people sent me stencils and then I actually bought a stencil and now I'm diving in.

As it turns out there are 2 challenges this week where we are inspired to use stencils:

Less is More - week 229 - Theme - Stenciling

AAA Cards - game 42 - Paste and/or Stencils

I used the "ghosting" technique described by Anita on the Less is More blog.  You ink your paper (I used 3 different inks on each card), you then lay your stencil over the inked paper and spritz with water.  You wait 30 seconds and dab the paper with a paper towel.

I love the effect this gave to my 2 cards and am so happy Anita's pretty card inspired me to try this technique.

Happy you stopped by today, stencils are now on my radar :)

Happy Father's Day

My father was a wonderful man. He always put his family first and loved us so much.  Every Saturday in the summer we would spend the whole day at the beach, my Mom would prepare a big lunch and pack it in the cooler.  Dad would put up the beach umbrella for a little shade and we would run in and out of the ocean, build sand castles and have so much fun just being together.  I miss him, I love you Dad xoxo

Bellarific Friday 6/19/15

I recently added a few new Stamping Bella stamps to my ever growing collection and this cute, little Hoppy Poppy stamp is one of them.  I made this card not only for a friend's birthday, but also for the Bellarific Friday challenge this week.  Here is the sketch we were given for inspiration this week:

So glad your visiting today.  It's summer here in the Rockies, 90 degrees, whew!!

Pretty butterfly

I took a trip to my favorite stamping store today, Simple Pleasures.  It's about a 45 minute drive from my home and it's a beautiful ride through the Plum Creek Valley into Palmer Lake, Monument and then Colorado Springs.  This store always has the prettiest papers, stamps, die cuts, inks, you name it, Kathy has it.

When I returned home I couldn't wait to use this pretty paper.  I made this card for the challenge over at Case This Sketch, here's this week's sketch:

Thanks for stopping by today.
90 degrees in Sedalia today, a little hot for me, but the sky is just beautiful :)

One of the Peeps...

I had seen this cute Peeps stamp a long time ago and always wanted it (it just cracks me up).  Well, as you can see I finally bought it and now I can have a laugh every time I create a card with it :)

I made this card for the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches this week, here's the sketch:

Glad you're here today and glad you're a Crafty "Peep" too!

Sea Time

Oh no!! I missed the link up for the Fusion challenge.  It took me forever to make this card, darn it.  Not that the card was difficult to make, but I am somewhat color challenged and I kept changing the card color; not the anchor or the seashells, just the background card.  I finally decided on a sand color background and it was too late.

I guess it's o.k., I'm happy with the card, I just love teal, or in this case Bermuda bay.

Thanks for stopping by today :)

Case this Sketch 127

I made this card for the challenge over at Case this Sketch this week.  I used one of the dies from an Impression Obsession dog die set (looks like a Golden Retriever to me) and moved the sentiment to the bottom of the card.  Added a little paw print and done.  Here's the sketch:

Happy you stopped by today; a beautiful, sunny day in Sedalia :)

Celebrating Summer

I just added this Stamping Bella stamp to my collection and I just love it.  I thought these 3, happy little girls dancing around with ribbons were a perfect choice for the Summer challenge at Just Us Girls this week.  Enjoy!!

Glad you're here today :)

Birthday Greetings

Lately I am trying to make some GUY cards.  And, while surfing the net, I found a new challenge blog called The Male Room.  It's a blog who's challenges are around making cards for guys, good timing or what??  The current challenge is to use washi tape on your card; I only have a few rolls of washi tape and thought this wood grain tape would go well with this card, so here it is.

Glad you're visiting today, hope you have a very nice day :)

Celebrate

Isn't it wonderful when you make a card that you absolutely love; this is the card, I'm so happy with the way it turned out.

I made this card for the color challenge at Less is More, the color is sunset.  I'm diving into water coloring a little bit lately and I enjoyed using watercolor pencils to come up with this "sunset" background.

Glad you stopped by today, it's a sunny, warm day here in Sedalia :)

Friends become family...

This sentiment is so true in so many ways.  I'm happy to have a few close friends who make my world a much better place.

I made this card for the challenge at Case this Sketch and here's the sketch:

Happy you stopped by on this fine day!

Royalty

I was given this crown die at a stamp show in Denver, CO last year.  Always knew it would be put to good use some day; and that day has arrived.  I made this card for the Monday challenge at Simon Says Stamp, the challenge is the word ROYAL.  When I think of "royal" what better image than a crown?

I added lots of jewels and sparkle (which is hard to see in the photo) and the sentiment well it says it all.

So glad you stopped by today, hope your day is Wonderful!

CTS 125

I made this card for challenge 125 at Case This Sketch this week.  I have not seen a butterfly yet, but I know they will be fluttering around soon.  Here is the sketch we were given for inspiration:

Glad you stopped by today, have a good one!
